“Often compared to Charlie Hunter, Tuck Andress, Julian Lage and Tommy Emmanuel… The jazz harmony is there, but worked seamlessly into pieces that could almost be considered closer to instrumental pop.”Jazz Guitar Today

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Adam Miller began as a solo guitar virtuoso before expanding into session playing, producing, mixing and mastering, university education, and more. Throughout it all, his vision for creating instrumental guitar music has remained central.

He has toured extensively, performing in the USA, Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Japan and Australia — and even in Afghanistan for Australian and Allied Forces. Miller has shared stages with Les Paul, Tommy Emmanuel, Samantha Fish, Mike Stern, Charlie Hunter, Tomo Fujita, Adam Levy, Matt Schofield, Mason Stoops, Molly Miller, Josh Smith, Joey Landreth, KT Tunstall, Russell Morris, Ariel Posen, Tony McManus, and Ben Gillies (Silverchair), among many others. In 2002, he was crowned Australian Fingerstyle Guitar Champion and now has his own signature model with Nik Huber Guitars.

Originally from Newcastle, Australia, Miller was based in Los Angeles for a period and has spent much of the past two decades performing internationally. He has appeared at major festivals including the Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada), Woodstock Guitar Festival (USA), Guitar Masters Wrocław (Poland), Lancaster Music Festival (UK), Karel Music Expo (Italy), The NAMM Show (USA), Artisan Guitar Show (USA), Rocky Mountain Jazz Guitar Festival (USA), Guitar Summit (Germany), Holy Grail Guitar Show (Germany), Musikmesse (Germany), Australian Blues Festival, A Day On The Green, Jazz in the Vines, West Australian Guitar Festival, Melbourne Guitar Festival, Adelaide International Guitar Festival, and Newcastle Jazz Festival.

Miller has been featured in The Fretboard Journal, Guitar Player, Acoustic Guitar, Premier Guitar, Acoustic UK, Australian Guitar, and Australian Musician, among many other publications. His 2013 album Delayed was named a Top 10 Album of 2012 by Acoustic Guitar Magazine (USA), and he was recognised as one of the Top 25 Future Legends by Australian Guitar Magazine.

With ten independent releases to his name — many receiving international acclaim — Miller is also signed to US label SideHustle Records (owned by Charlie Hunter) for his album Beyond Reason. He has released an instructional video with US education platform TrueFire and has lectured in Jazz and Contemporary Guitar at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
