Phil MacDougall, also known as the “Prince of Darkness” has been on air since September 1980, back when PBS was still broadcasting out of St Kilda and the punk scene was still sharpening its edges.

His long-running Thursday evening program Sunglasses After Dark has become essential listening for fans of punk, hardcore, garage, rockabilly, industrial and all things independent and underground.

Now, 45 years after first taking to the mic, PBS’ longest serving presenter Phil MacDougall is marking the milestone with a big celebration on Sunday October 26 at The Tote in Collingwood. 

The party starts at 3pm and with bands in the main room and front bar. The line-up, in alphabetical order, includes Alien Nosejob, The Breadmakers, Digger & the Pussycats, Garry Sacred & Cong Josie, The Hybernators, Mach Pelican, The Pink Tiles, Plastic Section, Spitting Chips and The Wraylettes.
