The Score: Conversations at Camp Sovereignty

Kirby Fary fills in for Samira Farah on The Score and presents a series of evening conversations recorded at the recently re-established Camp Sovereignty.

Uncle Robbie Thorpe, Jasper Cohen-Hunter and Manju talk about the camp, ceremonial fire and nightly sunset ceremonies that were re-established in so-called "King's Domain" on January 26th.

On March 12th, Camp Sovereignty will celebrate the 18th anniversary of when Uncle Robbie and Uncle Kev Buzzacott first lit the fire in 2006.

There's currently a fundraising campaign to support the transport and accommodation costs of Elders travelling to Naarm for the anniversary celebrations, and you can find out more about camp and the plans for March 12th on Instagram via @old.country.calling and @blackpeoplesunion.
