"Playmates" is perhaps the most definitive statement of intent yet from Sydney's Jack Ladder. A master of melodrama and intrigue, Jack Ladder is here accompanied by his all-star cast of Dreamlanders, the exceedingly talented Kirin J Callinan, Laurence Pike and Donny Benet. Production is handled by Kim Moyes of The Presets, and the sum of these parts adds to an emotionally engaging and musically adventurous trip. There's elements of cold wave, 80s synth pop, country, and rock ballads, all anchored by Ladder's distinctive baritone.
