A lush and gritty program for piano, violin and cello, inspired by a palette of shifting drones, acid house, Dada and reminiscences of Schubert. Heavily featuring New-York based composers at the boundaries of contemporary classical, the program includes music by Florent Ghys, Missy Mazzoli, Pascal LeBoeuf and Nico Muhly. Their music is intensified by the contrasting sound worlds of Nadia Boulanger, and Estonia's Arvo Pärt, who sits in a genre of his own.

Tempo Rubato is a classical music venue and bar at 34 Breese St Brunswick. All proceeds go the the Piano Project, who provide free piano lessons for children who have recently immigrated to Australia. The Tempo Rubato bar will be open from one hour before the concert.
