This show is not called “old new borrowed blue”. I mean sure, that’s pretty much what Australia’s best loved musical comedy trio are actually going to be doing; old songs, new songs, covers, even the odd touch of earthy language... but “old new borrowed blue” is a really twee name and if there’s one thing we know aboutTripodit’s that they are hip and cool and would never call their show “old new borrowed blue”.

Other names we’re not using include “Sunday Fundays” “Rubber Mallard” and “Afterlunch Delight”. “Sir Edmund Hilarity” is a current front runner.

Vocalist and guitarist, Mick Medew, co-founder of The Screaming Tribesmen, has been making his mark on Australian music for over 30 years. Mick was inducted into The Queensland Music Hall of Fame in 2015 winning the Grant McLennan Lifetime Achievement award and has been playing for the past 5 years with his band The Mesmerisers, who have a new album out on i94 Bar records, called Open Season.

Mick is joined by special guest Claire Birchall

Claire is well known in the Melbourne music scene as a rockin' guitarist and vocalist with her band Claire Birchall & the Phantom Hitchhikers, and previous band Paper Planes, but this year she snuck off alone and locked herself in her bedroom with some drum machines, synths and a 4-track and made a DIY synth-pop album, which is soon to be released on Melbourne's It Records. The first single from the album Running In Slow Motion: ‘Dead Air', is out this October.
