Tide (Alcides Neto) is a Brazilian guitarist, percussionist and vocalist based in Melbourne. Genres: Traditional and contemporary Brazilian folk music. Inspired by folk music from his home country, Tide aims to present his perspective of Brazilian music, mixing traditional styles with experimental sounds from percussive instruments to animal calls. Tide is noted by his distinctive percussive style of playing guitar, melding fingerstyle and articulate strumming techniques to achieve a dynamic, delicate and varied sound. The result is an organic and authentic style.Tide currently works as a full-time musician performing in different formats as act Tide across Melbourne venues, he also is currently recording his debut album, due for release in June 2021.
