Giving us an indication of the new musical direction he is taking, today The Kite String Tangle unleashes single ‘P()L4R’ alongside accompanying instrumental ‘C()D3X’. Together with the new music comes the announcement of three special one-off shows down the East Coast.

Written between London, Bali and Brisbane, ‘P()L4R’ marks a line in the sand for the producer and talks of indecision, self-sabotage and change centring around the theme of polarity within a relationship. It’s a darker sound than his previous work and includes some nods to early UK garage woven throughout.

‘C()D3X’ unveils a sonic and visual theme and gives even more insight into the distinctive path the new music has taken and what to expect from The Kite String Tangle in the future.

Following the special shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, The Kite String Tangle will be heading to Berlin to take up the Grant McLennan Fellowship which he was awarded in 2018. The Fellowship is awarded to Queensland artists and will see him live in the city for 3 months to immerse himself in the electronic music and arts scene.

It’s been a busy couple of years for the Brisbane producer. The release of his debut self-titled album in 2017 which saw him nominated for an ARIA award, two national headline tours, much-talked about sets at Splendour in the Grass and FOMO festivals amongst others. Then in 2018 he released single ‘Give It Time’, won a Queensland Music Award, played captivating sets at local and international festivals. Then there was also the release of mini album The Kite String Tangle Presents: In A Desperate Moment which resulted in two sold out shows with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Brisbane.
