Djangologists were formed in 2014 by Chris Higgins and Hamish Reid. They are a quintet that performs music inspired by Django Reinhardt while adding heir own twist! (clarinet/saxophone, trombone, 2x guitar, double bass).

The band have performed throughout NSW and interstate, supporting some of the best local acts including Cameron Jones, Gadjo Guitars and The Gypsy Jazz Project (ACT). They have also appeared at several festivals including the Manly Jazz Festival, Newcastle Jazz Festival and The Entrance Winter Blues & Jazz Festival.

The Djangologists have had recordings played on Eastside Radio and Fine Music. They have performed live for The Gypsy Hot Club program hosted by Justine D’odd on Eastside Radio and in 2019 Fine Music will broadcast a live set on The Australian Jazz Scene program recorded at Johnston Street Jazz by Peter Nelson.

Surrounded by percussive instruments, very special guests and with his guitar, Tide will present an intimate concert of traditional Brazilian music at Wesley Anne.

There will also be Rasteiro opening the night with Brazilian standards of Bossa Nova, Samba, Baião and more. Nos vemos lá! Tide is a Melbourne based guitarist and vocalist from Brazil.

Tide plays traditional Brazilian jazz music: Samba-Jazz, Baião, Chula, Côco, and Afoxé; genres which have a strong African origin as well as South American Indigenous and European influences.
