Many have been forgiven when entering a local bar, for thinking they've been transported to a similar bar in Nashville, or a venue on Beale Street, such is the authenticity of the respect to the artists from these very locales, that has proven to be a major influence on each player in the band.

When Snow Townsend's Bona Fide Travellers pull into clubs on the Lost Highway they don't need to flash driving licences or CV'S for the guest book, they are genuine horsemen with the notches on their guns, guitars, drums, and holsters. The Bona Fide Travellers are a riveting roots band whose members were in the vanguard of the progressive country scene of the seventies.

The members rode in the same posse as The Dingoes, Greg Quill's Country Radio, Saltbush, Hit & Run, Dead Livers, Bluestone, and many more. Snow was the leader of two of Melbourne's most successful alt-country outfits, Wild Beaver Band and One Armed Bandit. Prior to that the influential “Moppa Blues” was home to Snow's vocals and if you have read Rick Springfield's autobiography, he states that when he saw Moppa Blues his future was set! In fact Snow gave Rick some of his earliest gigs as a lead guitarist. Sharing stages and touring with internationals JJ Cale, Leon Russell, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, and Little Feat, have added to an extensive pedigree within the Melbourne music scene. Each Bona Fide Travellers gig becomes a joyous and electric experience for everyone, bon ton roulet!
