We welcome Team Love to the Bird for the first time. Team Love is an alt-country outfit from Melbourne and the Wombat State Forest. Traditional country and folk songs with a twist, rocking duets to heartbreaking ballads to dazzling four part harmonies.

They have been breaking and melting the hearts of all who hear them, with music that echoes the country greats with a contemporary spin. Exploring traditional themes such as love and loss, as well chronic illness, identity and feminism, Team Love will not only make you think but make you feel heard.

Returning to the Bird following a stunning solo performance last week, Katankin is the solo moniker of singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer Helen Catanchin. Formally trained as a jazz singer, Katankin was born from the artist’s desire to return to her singer-songwriter roots, and integrate pop and electronic elements into her works.

Helen’s uniquely warm tone – simultaneously earthy and incredibly pure – and a true bard’s ability to deftly expose the beating heart of every song, along with her poetic and poignant songwriting style, all put their unmistakable stamp on Katankin’s songs.
