Stories Behind the Façade exhibition showcases five significant heritage buildings in the Dandenong Ranges. Inspired by the unique Polish paper cutting art form Wycinanki the artworks are a nod to mother-daughter artists Polish heritage.

A shared love for storytelling and keen interest in architecture and heritage sparked this yearlong collaboration between, Jola Pawlowska, SamMoon, Tex Moon and Jesse Raaen.

History and stories are revealed through multiple layers, brought to life through artworks, recorded memories, photographs and building biographies.

The buildings featured are:

Burnham Beeches / Art Deco mansion (arch. Harry Norris)

Miller-Short House / Mid-century entertainer (arch. Frederick Romberg)

Mawarra / Arts and crafts home (arch. Harold Desbrowe-Annear + Ind. Edna Walling)

Kenloch Estate / Edwardian home and eatery

St Michael and All Angels / Church (arch. Keith Reid)

The exhibition takes place at the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum, Lilydale. It runs daily from 10am-4pm, from November 9 through to January 26.
