Our weekly Thursday Soul in the Basement has been running for a now 18 years and has showcased the best contemporary and legacy acts in the world of soul music along with funk and disco. A great night for punters who appreciate live musicianship whilst resident DJ’s such as Vince Peach work the dance floor late into the evening with classic 45” pressings and all-time-favourite soul anthems!

Featuring members of Deep Street Soul, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Kylie Auldist band, Fulton Street, Adult.Films, Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir and more, this is indeed what we like to call a Soul Assembly. Paying respects to the roots of soul and its various incarnations, Soul Assembly bring new flavours to both classic and obscure soul, funk and RnB, and explore exciting new directions of soulful grooves.

They'll be joined on the night by Russia, this Melbourne quintet have been developing their brand of contemporary funk in bandrooms across Melbourne and delighted punters out for a boogie.
