Sydney saxophonist Sean Coffin and Melbourne staple Julien Wilson are long term members of the Mutual Admiration Club. Both studied in Boston with George Garzone at the tail end of the 20th Century. They will be joined for this special event by Melbourne/Perth bassist Sam Anning and Melbourne/Sydney drummer Felix Bloxsom, both of whom spent extended periods living and working in New York.

July 10th Shuttle Bop: Julien Wilson meets Sean Coffin

This week sees Julien Wilson welcome Sydney saxophonist Sean Coffin to the stage. Long term members of the Mutual Depreciation Society, both studied in Boston with George Garzone, and have themselves taught two generations of Australian saxophonists in institutions of repute in their respective cities. They will be joined by bassist Sam Anning and drummer Felix Bloxsom for a night of exuberant jazz with some originals from both sprinkled in amongst the standard fare.
