Vertex
I want my brown childhood fantasies to be your reality”. Mufeez, AKA Vertex, is heavily driven by this statement as he pours his heart over eclectic instrumentals varying in emotions. He shares his lived experiences as a brown man living in the West, as he reflects feelings of vulnerability, deep affection, discontentment and triumph.
Being part of the diaspora, his music is crafted using various traditional instruments mixed with Western structures and sounds to create eccentric fusions of r&b, hip hop, electronic and pop music that perfectly represent his brown, third cultural identity. And he also likes cats.
