We are delighted that trumpet /flugelhorn player extraordinaire Leon De Bruin(studied at the Manhattan School of Music) found time in his full time teaching and young family schedule, to perform with us. If you like interesting contrasts, and exciting jazz, this should be a great gig with some high intensity grooves, originals, ballads, Latin and swing!! It’s a great room in Manhattan style. We recommend early parking and enjoying the great local food places!!! See you there.

Leon R de Bruin is a musician, educator and researcher in music. As an in-demand trumpeter he has played with many local and international artists. He has spent time in New York and toured Europe with his quintet and is equally adept playing standards and in freer jazz assemblages. Usually teaching, researching or presenting somewhere around the world, this is a rare opportunity to hear him play in Melbourne. The above is a little bit about our guest for the Southside Jazz Room gig, Gordon Street Elsternwick on Friday July 12, from 8-10:15pm. This will be a nice vibe I can guarantee it as we love playing together!
