A misced bag. Head bangin’ & booty shakin, moments, angular riffs, pulsing beats and moody electro smooshed together in Colour’s Orange Room

Thrilled to announce the first 2022 installment of MISC. Delivering us a danceable smoosh of punchy and visceral sound waves are live acts QUELL & SPUNK, alongside selectors BRIXX and SOFTSERVE. So much heat.

QUELL

Quell is a producer and sound artist operating with hardware electronics and found sounds to explore noise and various dance musics as a means of bodily affect. In 2021, Quell released their EP Endless, with Dero Arcade. Endless is a loose exploration of a personal acquaintance with a man of professional violence, and the events that occurred over that time. The result is a blend of industrial clatter, synthetic ambience and angular repetition of EBM-esque rhythms.

BRIXX (DJ)

Brixx is a Naarm-based music producer, composer and DJ influenced by cult cinema, new beat, EBM, techno and electro. Her sound is underpinned by a darkness, her music acting as a lens through which to explore the human condition. In 2020 Brixx released music on French labels Filatures and Parfe Records, including her debut Corporate Punishment, a musical collage of samples, spoken word and synthesizers. Her most recent release, Conversion Therapy, came out on vinyl via Heavy Machinery Records in September 2021.

SPUNK

Spunk are electric. Local 4 piece all girl band based in Naarm; with throbbing bass, pounding drums, sticky sweet riffs and cheeky lyrics, you’ll be on your knees begging for more!

SOFSERVE (DJ)

Driven by community, connection, dance floor magic, local artists and spaces. Their current obsessions often shared across the Triple R & Area300 airwaves. Expect a smoosh of gritty techno, moody electro, groovy post punk/new wave, ravey bleeps and saucy, rolling acid lines

Amidst a chaotic and unknown time in the music world, and in between lockdowns, Holy Trinity managed to realise their first event as a collective. The November event at Collingwood’s Thank You Bar highlighted just a fraction of the incredible female and GNC talent from Melbourne. This year, they are taking things to the next level, bringing their vision to Colour and showcasing another stacked lineup of Naarm and interstate based artists.

Noctifer will be a night encapsulating the energy of a revitalised music scene as clubs and dance floors are finally back to their full capacity. Continuing with their quest to re-envision a more inclusive, diverse and safe music scene, Holy Trinity has invited an all star lineup of female identifying/GNC artists; Fresh faces Juju, Nak and Miki, who have been surging in the Naarm scene at high velocity who will be joined by Colette and interstate special guest Mia Sørlie (CBR).

Don’t miss out on this thumping night. Bring your friends. It’s boogie time.

We acknowledge that this event will be held on the stolen and un-ceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge no treaties have been signed, and pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
