Purple Matter is a groove-jazz collective inspired by 60s experimental jazz and underground hip hop artists such as MF Doom, Madlib and Standing on the Corner.

Combining acoustic and electronic instruments, the group recreates grooves and textures from sample based music in a live setting for improvisation and experimentation.
