In 2014, Pure Pop Records closed its doors for the last time, leaving a gaping hole in the music scene here in St Kilda where it is still very much missed to this day.

Over its nine year history, PPR played host to some of Melbourne’s finest acts as well as many international acts. Some of the more memorable gigs included; ‘The White Stripes’, Glen Hansard, Marlon Williams and of course that summer of classic albums which featured over 60 of Melbourne’s finest playing some of the most iconic albums ever made.

Pure Pop Records had support from a real community of music lovers, no matter what day of the week it was, you could always find a cold beer and great conversation from like minded people.
