Portal Gun primarily brings a blend of psych rock and funk/groove elements, aiming to combine retro ideas and styles with contemporary sounds and concepts. Their eclectic sound stems from their ability to integrate a melting pot of influences into their music, taking their audience on a musical journey.

Portal Gun formed in late 2022 consisting of members Edward Jacobs (Vocals/Guitar), Tim Bayne (Backing Vocals/Drums), Jordan Lahy (Keys/Synth) and Matt Rowan (Bass Guitar). This year Portal Gun have seen the release of singles Pinetree Odyssey and Living It Up at The Catfish and Shotkickers respectively.

Virtual Reality is the 3rd single off Portal Gun’s sophomore album set to be released in mid to late 2024. The single is a dream-pop song, with the sounds and production designed to encapsulate an underwater ocean theme. The lyrics tell a story of an immersion into ocean landscapes and interactions with ocean creatures looking to impart knowledge upon the protagonist.

In Portal Gun’s short lifespan as a band, they have modestly arisen to move and impress audiences, leaving them wanting more.
