After releasing the summer vibes indie tune, Baby Shakes, to rave reviews, Plotz are back with the second single from their upcoming EP.
Driven by dark 80s synths and sparse drums, You Are Not Alone dives into some 80s alt band territory. Reminiscent of Depeche Mode and Joy Division, the song captivates from the opening lines. However, the song quickly opens up in the chorus and launches into an incredible singalong worthy of any 80s teen romance film. In fact, one wouldn’t be surprised if this appeared on the Stranger Things soundtrack.
Stylistically the single is a bit of a left turn for fans used to the jangle guitars and indie summer vibes that Plotz have become known for. But this advance in sound, production and songwriting just shows where this band is capable of going. Complex but catchy is an easy pill to swallow. It’s the summer anthem you didn’t know you needed. It meets you at your lowest point and lifts you up emotionally to see you through it.
