Award-winning Australian rapper and hip-hop sensation Philly announces a headline show coming to Melbourne this September, celebrating the release of his latest single “Brown Skin” feat. Waari, out via Bad Apples Music.

Taking place at Collingwood’s Grace Darling Hotel on Sunday, September 15, the headline show will see a killer performance from the Mildura raised, Naarm based MC, supported by a very special set from WA raised indie guitarist and vocalist Dani Sib Music.

“Brown Skin” showcases Philly’s mellow bars with Waari’s dreamy vocals, guided gently by an acoustic guitar melody that further spotlights the masterful pairing of their combined talents. Imbued with deep appreciation of their “Black Queen”, Philly uses “Brown Skin” to highlight the unparalleled strength of Indigenous Australian women across all generations and as Bad Apples continuously does, promote black excellence across the nation.

The first artist signed to Bad Apples back in 2016, across his musical career Philly has won numerous awards for his commitment to music including the National Noel Tovey Achievement Award, Mildura’s NAIDOC Artist of the Year and National Indigenous Music Award. Launching onto the scene in 2015 with his debut EP, Dreamchaser and breathtaking triple j Like A Version, Philly has consistently used his gift and voice to make change, inspire young people and become a serious influencer within the Australian hip-hop category.
