Pearl Bay release their debut cassette tape, Personal Best – six rock songs about trying your best. You will also be able to listen to the whole tape on the internet, if for some reason your tape player is currently broken. Helping us out at the launch are The Tropes, Piss Factory, and Shards.
The day before their show at the RiverRock festival (sold out), the high-energy veterans Señor No from Basque Country (don't call it Spain) will be playing their first Australian gig at The Tote, but their antipodes connection already runs deep.
Señor No was the very first release for the seminal Spanish label Bang! Records which is a label responsible of releasing some of Australian best bands overseas, and have recently release their last album ‘No Cambies Siempre’ and a 7” Off/My Pal (GOD) with FOLC Records (Los Chicos record label).
As an aside, they have two recordings with the legendary Roy A Loney from the Flamin´Groovies ( the LP “Got me a hot one!” and the single “Bottle of wine”) and have been his Spanish backing band for many years and well as more recently being the backing band for Cheetah Chrome from the Dead Boys.
