Assured. Poised. Ready. Today Patrick James launches his next pivotal chapter with the release of 'UP’, the first single from a new EP What We're Fighting For and arguably his most career defining work yet. All this alongside an intimate east coast tour this April.

Channelling the alt-pop sensibilities of HONNE, Oh Wonder, and The 1975, Patrick James’ latest offering is a polished evolution for the multi-instrumentalist. A glimpse into his forthcoming EP, ‘UP’ is a smooth piano driven anthem about maturity and letting go of the past - all while plucking at heartstrings along the way. Plentiful with humble, semi-autobiographical tales, Patrick James' first full length release in four years, What We’re Fighting For EP is due Friday March 9. Sleek and modern, yet blossoming with hints of decades gone R&B elements, Patrick James is reinventing the typical love song masterfully across all five tracks.

The new body of work marks a new chapter for the song-maker and follows the release of his acclaimed album Outlier in 2015. Patrick James was catapulted into the limelight thanks to widely praised singles ‘Covered In Rain’, ‘California Song, and standout selection ‘Bugs’. Attaining triple j Unearthed rotation and triple j plays, ‘Bugs’ has now amassed over 1.3 million streams on Spotify.

This snowball of success lead to a series of sold out headline and support performances around Australia with trailblazers Boy & Bear, The Paper Kites and Emma Louise, and overseas in the UK with British powerhouse Bear’s Den. With the What We’re Fighting For EP, and string of east coast headline dates on the horizon, Patrick James is on the 'UP' and up.
