Paperjane, a four piece original Americana/Roots outfit hailing from the Macedon Ranges play the Wesley Anne Sunday 18 November with guest Ben J Carter (Cold Irons Bound). Featuring the vocal songwriting of Buck Edwards, Tim Lane on drums, Tom Curry on bass and Scott Haywood on guitar. The band was formed in 2008 and released the album ‘First Morning Song’ to acclaim in 2012 and was unearthed by Triple J. The band is currently in pre-production for it second album expected in 2019 and keen to road-test new material and new sounds. Winning audiences with their blend of ‘north of the river blues’ and ‘south of the border gospel’, Paperjane feature powerful harmonies and roots swagger. From heartache ballad to new country anthem, the tunes of Buck Edwards make a humble submission to the Australian roots songbook. Rosario De Marco, guitarist-composer is renowned throughout Italy for his arrangements and performances of Neapolitan and popular music. Rosario has performed live as well as for national TV and radio. He has released a number of CDs, including "Light and Shadows" "Roots" and "Intuition". His music captures the warmth and passion of the Southern European lands, taking elements from flamenco, jazz, classical, folk and popular music. Rosario is a gifted musician and composer, he can create a Mediterranean atmosphere with just a guitar. His style is something between melodious picking and rhythmic percussive playing. The general impression is aggressive and experimental, he adds a lot of influences into his tunes but it always sounds somehow rooted in the Mediterranean, yet with a unique flavour to it.
