Melbourne trio MOD CON are proud to launch their second LP Modern Condition at the Night Cat with support from Brick Head, Teether/Kuya Neil & Parsnip and accompanied by Jacky Winter DJs.
Modern Condition documents the evolving creative alchemy of bandmates Erica Dunn, Sara Retallick and Raquel Solier in their most refined and heady sound to date. The album’s nine generous tracks amplify MOD CON’s ineffable chemistry, and is both a charged interrogation of the times we find ourselves in and a rapturous celebration of our prevailing ability to make some noise in the madness.
Recorded with acclaimed engineer, John Lee (Laura Jean, Love Of Diagrams, Blake Scott) at Phaedra Studios in February 2021and distributed locally and internationally by Poison City Records.
MOD CON’s new offering presents society with both a stark diagnosis and a hopeful cure, a voice of optimism in amongst threats of collapse. A record that pleads for honesty and scrutiny in a time of growing authoritarianism, Modern Condition serves as a vital release from three of Australia’s most discerning music makers.
NME - “Modern Condition is a record made by a band that’s locked in and know exactly what they want to say”
Rolling Stone - “One of the year’s finest releases”
