His compositions are always deeply personal, drawing inspiration from his love of the freedom of jazz and improvisation, zestful middle eastern sounds and deep grooves. Onstage, König plays with a full, robust tone on the tenor and a searing zurna-like sound on his soprano. His band make for an explosive unpredictable outfit of flying fingers, elegant melodic lines, hypnotic rhythms, beautiful soundscapes, and shameless hijinks.
