Described by triple j as a 'highly potent' and 'progressive' salsa band, Malo Malo’s leader Danny G Felix draws inspiration from the classic 1970’s Cuban, Puerto Rican and New York dance bands and fuses Soul, R&B, Contemporary Jazz and Timba to create the Malo Malo sound. Imbued with Latin rhythms such as guaguanco, son montuno, mozambique, cha cha, son, songo and bolero the music is energetic, uplifting and seductive.
MALO MALO feel passionately about multiculturalism, human rights and equality.
In 2019 they released their debut album “AUSTRALEÑO” (including 9 originals and 1 cover).
Several tracks have charted internationally and have been featured in the top 100 “New Generation Salsa” playlists. It was also ‘”Album of the week” on Eastside Radio & SBS Spanish.
