Three of Melbourne’s most beloved indie artists present an evening of songs and stories at The Brunswick Ballroom on Thursday 18 November. In these raw and intimate solo performances, Little Wise, Georgia Fields, and John Flanagan will each share new, yet-to-be released material – plus some re-imagined old favourites – offering in turns the piercing song-craft and warm on-stage storytelling for which they are so well-known.

Little Wise (AKA songwriter Sophie Klein) delivers vintage folk-rock sounds with a damn good dose of Melbourne swagger. Paying homage to some of the great songwriters that have come before her, Little Wise sings from the heart and “with the wisdom of an old soul” (triple j). In this, her first Melbourne show since 2019, Little Wise returns to the stage with an astonishingly strong collection of new, unreleased songs… and a sprinkling of gardening wisdom to share from her time away from touring life.

Georgia Fields “dreams in fantastic Technicolor” (The Sydney Morning Herald). Her genre-defying solo show sees her shift from electric guitar to textural live looping and nostalgia-heavy vintage keyboards, conjuring a magnetic onstage alchemy. At this Brunswick Ballroom performance Georgia is celebrating the release of her new single ‘Find Your Way Back’ (out now). A widescreen vision of melodic indie-pop, the track is the first taste of her forthcoming third album.

In the tradition of the great folk singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70s, John Flanagan offers delicately-crafted vignettes of life, love and longing. “One of Australia’s finest lyricists” (Timber & Steel), he is a favourite on the festival circuit, and in 2019 toured outback Australia for 7 weeks as part of the Festival of Small Halls. John is currently working on his fourth studio album with 7-time Grammy nominated engineer Erick Jaskowiak.
