With the band-in-a-room immediacy, alt-country inspired harmonies and resonating poetic imagery that brings to mind contemporary indie acts such as Middle Kids or Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, as well as the classic rock of early Paul Kelly, Kilns is the fleshed-out natural progression of Mickey Cooper’s lo-fi solo LP ‘Hit The Ceiling’. By way of drummer Davey Noordhoff’s label Catch Release Records—a springboard for acts such as Slowly Slowly and Owen Rabbit—Kilns’ debut single ‘Go Slowly’ will be out on September 14.
