Playing the Bird for the first time, Katankin is the solo moniker of singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer Helen Catanchin. Formally trained as a jazz singer, Katankin was born from the artist’s desire to return to her singer-songwriter roots, and integrate pop and electronic elements into her works.

Helen’s uniquely warm tone – simultaneously earthy and incredibly pure – and a true bard’s ability to deftly expose the beating heart of every song, along with her poetic and poignant songwriting style, all put their unmistakable stamp on Katankin’s songs.

Following an intensely productive songwriting period, Katankin has been using the isolation of the recent lockdown to record a debut EP, scheduled for release very soon. With a swag of brand new songs to share, join Katankin for two sets of intimate and compelling music.
