Probably seen profusely sweating in the smoker's area after playing drums for Buzz & The Pickups or singing for Carpal Tunnel Band, James Ayris has carved himself an interesting career as an emerging rock n' roller from Naarm / Melbourne. Releasing two Folk Rock EP's during 2020, jayris has thrown away every creative path he took with those projects and opted to go down an entirely new one, resulting in the new upcoming album and backing band The Scum Smothered Clouds.

With an admiration for early vintage rock, punk, dole wave and pop rock, Jayris brews all of these genres together into an amusingly volatile live act alongside The Scum Smothered Clouds. Often writing of hardships, love and other melancholic professes, Jayris takes a rather humorously decadent turn towards his stream of conscious notions in an ironically callous manner.

With members of the band consisting of Stella Delmenico, Henry Lucas (Mudshaker / Hot Glue) Nick Elliot (Carpal Tunnel Band) and Johnsen Cummings (Hollow December) The Scum Smothered Clouds are joined by mates Daddy Issues and Spice Rack at The Gasometer on April 8th for what should be nothing short of a disaster.

**

The first full length LP from Protospasm. Ten punk rock sledgehammers combining the sounds of 80s hardcore with mega rock n roll riffage, while Danni's lyrics offer a scathing and humorous take on everything from societal expectations and personal struggles to paranormal detectives. For fans of Annihilation Time, The Dickies, Government Warning and pets.
