Jack Phemister is a songwriter and performer from Yass, NSW, currently residing in Melbourne. Drawing on the beautiful, melancholic musings of Elliott Smith, and the twisted poetry and broiling emotions of Nick Cave & Gareth Liddiard, Phemister has developed a distinctive fingerpicked voice on the guitar, and a passion for well crafted lyrics. Snatching at any and everything they can, his songs tend to find themselves in a miraculously cohesive, though somewhat genre-less niche of their own, and they seem to be happy there.
