Vocalist, multi instrumentalist and producer IKSRE (aka Phoebe Dubar)’s music has been described by critics as “at the delicate intersection of the natural world in fissure with atmospheric electronics and instruments” (The Wire Magazine); “a techno-naturalistic exploration of the relationships between people, places and times” (Dazed Magazine) and “a deft use of verdant strings, undulating synths, and vocals, blended with ambient droning and binaural beats” Vehlinggo.

Following on from collaborative records with international artists marine eyes, Shelf Nunny and anthène released in 2022 on Past Inside the Present (Ohio), Hush Hush Records (Seattle) and Polar Seas Recordings (Toronto), comes her fifth solo album, abundance (out 2 February on legendary ambient cassette label, Constellation Tatsu, Oakland).
abundance is a journey through ambient music that teeters on the edge of danceability, inviting listeners to connect themselves to the abundance that surrounds them. Ethereal vocals, lush strings and analogue synths, alongside singing bowls, chimes and other sound healing instruments. Drawing on songs from the new album alongside her previous four solo releases, the IKSRE live show is a transformative experience, invoking moments of sublime beauty, meditation and improvisation.

Joining her for the tour dates will be fellow Naarm resident, Willebrant – the ambient field drone project of Naarm/Melbourne bassist and producer Karl Willebrant. As the covid pandemic took hold in 2020 and the gigs disappeared overnight, Willebrant entered the home studio and delved into his love of ambient, emerging with a myriad of releases to critical acclaim, featuring collaborations with artists from Europe, The United States and Australia. Experience a captivating and immersive set of continuous soundscapes and textures as Willebrant traverses landscapes of the mind’s eye.
