Jazz vocalist, singer-songwriter, instrumentalist and electronic music producer Helen Catanchin performs two solo acoustic sets of her poetic originals, plus covers from diverse genres. With a talent for storytelling and a warm and commanding vocal tone, Helen's solo repertoire ranges from calypso, Romanian hora and trad jazz, to folk, pop and her own eclectic songs, all uniquely arranged for ukulele or guitar.
A Melbourne-based musician, Helen leads several bands and has been featured at major jazz venues and festivals for over a decade, including Bennetts Lane, Paris Cat, Bird's Basement, Caravan Club, and the Wangaratta and Eltham Town Jazz and Blues Festivals.
