"Fresh and Pretty" is the third offering from Melbourne band HE CRIES DIAMONDS, taken off their soon to be released album LAST CALL. Written in tribute to the characters created by Tennessee Williams, the song considers, with reverence, the desperate heartache felt in relationships between gay men and the women who love them.
To celebrate the official premiere, He Cries Diamonds have teamed up with Storyteller and Burlesque Queen Becky Lou to present a unique double bill featuring her award winning work "Seen & Heard"
Seen & Heard is an all star Cabaret Review starring some of Melbourne's most prolific entertainers. Traditionally from highly physical and visual disciplines, the cast of artists are invited to embrace vulnerability, as they present an act from their repertoire and follow it with an intimate real life story, stripping away artifice in order to honour the person behind the persona.
He Cries Diamonds will follow suite, rearranging their usual hard rock lineup to offer a musical set that is tender and contemplative. Featuring the solemn vocals of Agent Cleave and a heart-wrenching performance from Actor Genevieve Giuffre, "Fresh and Pretty" strikes a chord not yet heard from the band; see it first at Howler.
