On Saturday May 5th we’ll be presenting Hardwaters live on the Yah’s bandstand! This show will be the launch of the debut EP for this recently formed punk band, one that has been delivering their gritty feminist anthems and sex positive message around town since late last year.

After a decade of friendship, Lach finally popped the question to Zoe: Want to start a band? Yes. Zoe Jazz has a background in classical performance and music theory, but was new to the punk scene. Lachlan Hicks has a world of experience touring extensively with previous acts, but wasn’t going to be reading sheet music anytime soon. They are balanced by Sarah Cretu, who brings fresh rhythms and high energy to the mix. These three elements are perfectly complementary in composition. Heavy influences filtered through softer rock can make for some Hardwaters.

Hardwaters are magnetic on stage. Feel the intensity as Zoe sings through her teeth to ‘Interrupt Her’, an anthem that packs some serious venom. If you’ve got too much on your plate, make time for ‘Appetite for Love’ and never feel lonely again. The dynamic ‘Shake the Hope’ is a show-stopper. And ‘Runaway’ just gives us all the feels.
