Australia’s most debonair 70s disco duo Groove City had a huge 2018... they filled the OAF with their own sold-out headline show, delighted at Groovin’ the Moo Canberra, signed with booking agency Maker, released their widely-praised gem Gold Chevrolet and toured around Australia and NZ, closing out the year by bringing their magic to the mainstage at Lost Paradise. In a holistic sense, Groove City continue to lead the charge in Australia when it comes to the resurgence of the disco genre.
The Melbourne-based duo will continue to do their best to ignore the fact they were probably born in the wrong decade, releasing a brand-new slice of funky single pie:Heat Of the Moment. The track layers up on the guitar, with Eddie Van Halen’s guitar tone being the inspiration behind the guitar solo outro, and a drum pattern reminiscent of Michael Jackson’s 'Beat It'. Musically, Heat of the Moment is a sign things to come for the boys. Catch them this April/May as they bring the groove across the country.
