Cameron McIntyre has returned home to Melbourne with the ambition to create and lead the city’s most danceable jazz band. The Greater Melbourne Tweed and Breakfast Society Orchestra is an ever-changing collective of Australian artists all of which are hell-bent on perpetuating and celebrating the very beginnings of American jazz music. While this band well-versed in the New Orleans jazz style, we pay particular attention to the Australian composers of this music, with a focus on encouraging emerging writers to contribute new works centred in the traditional jazz idiom.
