n this programme, pianists Gintaute Gataveckaite and Tristan Lee present works by Beethoven and Ravel for piano and piano duet. Commencing with the rarely performed yet delightful piano duet by Beethoven, ‘8 Variations on a Theme by Count Waldstein’, Tristan Lee will then perform Beethoven’s most famous piano sonata, Op. 27 No. 2 ‘Moonlight’. Following this, Gintaute Gataveckaite leads us on a journey to French Impressionism, performing two works from Ravel’s Miroirs, Oiseaux tristes (Sad Birds), and Une barque sur l’océan (A Boat on the Ocean). The concert concludes with Ravel’s stunning piano duet Ma mère l’Oye (Mother Goose) suite.
