clipp.art’s blistering SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD TIME event series returns for a VIVID Festival special, with an extra show at Melbourne’s infamous Fitzroy Nightcat on Friday May 31st featuring UK leftfield legends, FYI CHRIS on their Australian debut!

Unless you’ve buried your head inside a five-panel for the last couple years, you might’ve noticed South East London has become a hot-bed of musical activity, built up around a community of switched on producers, record collectors, record shops, DJs and promoters. In the thick of it, Chris Watson and Chris Coupe aka FYI CHRIS opened eponymous record shop ‘Rye Wax’ (a place for countercultural movements to flourish), which soon became a vibrant mainstay in the scene, and afforded the Peckham based duo to start hammering away on an MPC until something close to dance music emerged.

Fast forward just a few years and the DJ/production duo is not just known for their extraordinary DJ selections but for turning heads with their own dusty house and chalky rhythms, responsible for some of the UK underground house scene’s finest releases of the last five years with groundbreaking unconventional and highly functional 12’s on prestige imprints including Peckham powerhouse Rhythm Section International, Berlin based Toy Tonics, Wolf Music, Lumberjacks, West Friends and trend-setting London house imprint Church.
