Fuego Cumbe is a band formed to honour the musical traditions of Colombia: high-energy, afro-influenced rhythms that constitute the basis for many of the contemporary popular Latin music genres including cumbia and salsa. These styles include bullerengue,, currulao, chalupa, mapale, puya, vallenato, porro and chande, among others. The band is entirely made up of Melbourne-based female musicians from Colombia, Chile and Australia, playing to the beat of traditional Colombian drums from both the Pacific and Atlantic. door charge: $10
