The Foxymorons draw inspiration from an allusion to Australian landscape. Drawing upon the vivid bush aesthetic of Jonathan Zwartz, Hamish Stuart and Barney Mcall, the morons intend to subvert this identification with contemporary Australian jazz and create an act of high intensity groove. The original compositions draw upon the cyclic structures of Cuban bata drumming patterns intertwined with latin montunos, and subtle folk melodies to create long form improvisational suites.
