The Deans

Winner of the 2014 Victorian Age Music Awards for Best Indigenous Act, The Deans, formerly known as The Grenadines, were nominated for “Band of the Year” in the prestigious Deadly Awards in 2007.

The Deans are the sound of modern, original Melbourne Soul.

The Deans merge old school soul and funk with elements of cool rocksteady, rhythm and blues.

The Deans currently are completing recording, mixing and mastering on a new 10 track Album set to be released in 2019 entitled ‘Equal.’

The Deans sound introduces an original modern Melbourne soul sound. With velvet smooth vocals, sweet harmonies, soaring heartbreak guitar, deep Motown bass grooves and hip-shaking rhythms, The Deans combine soul, funk and R & B influences to create songs of emotion and of the heart.

The Offtopics

From Bourbon Street in New Orleans to Memphis and Jamaica via the bars of Brunswick, The Offtopics deliver infectious songs that will make you tap your feet and bring a smile to your face. Fronted by funk dynamo Polash Larsen, these are some of Melbourne’s most talented musicians working their basses off to show you a good time.

Start with the classic guitar, bass and drums, then add some keys and a few of the hardest-wailing horn players you’ve never heard – but who you damn well should. They’re a little bit bluesy, a little bit funky, a little bit rock and roll. And before you know it, their witches’ brew of classic grooves will have you out of your seat and up on the dance floor.
