Duo Encuentro is a new world music Duo. Giovanni Riveros and Bonnie Smith come together to make a rich fusion from world melodies and Latin Rhythms. Together, they invoke a marvellous interplay of classical guitar and vocal prowess. Giovani, Peruvian born, studied classical guitar in Germany, forming a distinguished career for 20 years. His Peruvian roots make him an expert in Latin rhythms and traditional melodies. Bonnie Smith, with an Australian/Canadian background and a Latin American heart, has been performing and composing for many years. She has led many bands for over 15 years and her love for Latin American culture is evident in her original music. Her travels have taken her to study, live and perform in the USA, Canada, Latin America and Europe. Together Giovani and Bonnie create world class music for all to enjoy.
