AAABackstage "a sonic portrayal of navigating through the complexities of modern relationships with a dash of rebellious charm."A&R Factory "If you thought Barbie was a feminist triumph, wait until you indulge your senses in this ode to the goddess of women." Singing quirky anecdotes of everyday occurrences, from hummus to crappy housemates to femme fatales, Naarm's (Melbourne) indie pop/ rock artist Douzey (pronounced Doo-Zee) is announcing the release of her EP 'Discard' (Out March 22) followed up with a launch party at the Gaso Upstairs.

In 2018, Douzey released her debut single 'Ophelia' followed by her debut three-track EP in 2019.  She then hit a huge roadblock in her life and music career when she lost the use of her hands from the onset of fibromyalgia. Through rehab, she relearned her fine motor skills and managed to get back to playing piano and guitar for gigs. Having to manage these health issues, she had lost her spark for creativity, which hit twofold with the impending lockdown. But now she is back at it and her tracks are as spicier as ever. Douzey makes her mark as she belts out some tongue-twisting introspective and sarcastic lyricism, along with catchy hooks and songs you can't help but dance to.

This night is one to see the scene for what is to come out of this powerhouse of a creative if you have a penchant for saying 'I saw them back in the day when they were starting out', this is the event you need to be at!

VWLS are 4 close mates who met in Canberra as teenagers. They have been converging
from the 4 corners of Melbourne since early 2019, wowing audiences with their satisfying
blend of solid grooves, gritty rock, guitar and keyboard interplay, and fun-loving critical lyrical
expression.
Fans know that when they come to a show, it’s going to be an experience to remember – with tracks like "Good Time Response Unit” and
“Emily’s Jacket” bringing
toe-tapping, all-out boppin’,  stage antics, VWLS are
relentlessly electrifying, positively tuneful, thrillingly truth-telling, hilariously inconsistent with
their wardrobes, and always rock out with a smile.
VWLS have played venues including Bar Open, Whole Lotta Love and The Spotted Mallard,
and more recently they performed sold out shows at The Bendigo Hotel and The Last
Chance Rock ‘n Roll Bar.

Melbourne misfit Momoko Rose wields her vulnerability as an instrument of healing. As a biracial and bisexual artist, her music explores realms of ambiguity and contradiction, embodying both wistfulness and wit. Momoko’s feminine aesthetic is charged with masculine energy, challenging conventions with edgy softness. Drawing inspiration from otherworldly women in R&B and folk — Björk, Raveena, Joanna Newsom and Japanese singer Ichiko Aoba — Momoko crafts ethereal soundscapes, with lush chords pierced by dynamic beats. Despite her first love for folk music, her sound is constantly evolving and breaks genre boundaries.

Evening News launch their new EP, 'New World' with heaps of friends at the Gaso downstairs! The first EP is a blend of house, electronica and IDM. With strong nods to the influences you know and love from the Melbourne 'Jazzy House' scene, Evening News Broaden the horizons of what is possible for a live band, creating a live show that showcases the virtuosity of electronic music played up close and personal. With support from good friends Acid Chess Club, Hausm8s, Emma Volard and the inimitable Rakhi. A huge public holiday eve weeknight show you don't want to miss!
