LIVE AND WELL at Bar Open: Dom Brinkley, Walls and Waves, Jeronimo Sanchez

Naarm-based singer-songwriter/guitarist DOM BRINKLEY and his band’s recent two-track live release ‘Live and Well’ expands on his 2021 folky songwriting to blend psychedelic funk, blues and jazz in a swirling soundscape- gaining traction on community radio stations like PBS FM. Now, for the first time in three months and the last time for 2022, Dom will be joined by his live band to tear through a raw, jammy, ripper of a set to bring in what will hopefully be a sweltering Aussie summer, capping off an experimental and wildly creative year. From a review by How Good Melbourne: ‘Listening to Dom’s music has felt like there’s a party I’ve been invited to where I thought I didn’t know anyone, but now that I’m here, it feels like I know just about the whole damn crowd’ Joining Dom will be WALLS AND WAVES and JERONIMO SANCHEZ.

After launching their first album ‘Dust’ at the Cactus Room in 2022- which was recorded in the remote towns of Coober Pedy and Alice Springs, WALLS AND WAVES navigates\neo-psychedelia with environmental sounds. Paul Michel and Adam Finnegan are working on their second studio album ‘Mars Melody Memory’- hypnotic and artistic performances from ‘the dark side of Mars’, where human emperors arrive on Mars and find an ancient civilisation of Martians which they proceed to colonise.

JERONIMO SANCHEZ is a Melbourne-based Mexican musician, presenting his solo project in Australia for the first time. He has managed to create a unique musical style that combines genres like folk and pop, whilst staying true to his classic rock and psychedelic influences.
