Crown Ruler Presents: Nappy Nina (US) with local supporting acts Crybaby, Rara Zulu (live band) and HAWKRADA on Sunday March 5th at the Gasometer Hotel.
Nappy Nina is an Oakland-born rapper, MC and producer who cut her teeth in the Bay Area scene before uprooting to Brooklyn where she is currently based. Her characteristic breezy flow has led to an impressive track record as a feature artist including on music by Yaeji, Quelle Chris and Son Lux. But Nappy Nina alone is just as promising to behold; with soulful rap and beats that captivate stages in their own right.
Joining her on the night is local R&B songstress Rara Zulu (live band), energetic party-bringer DJ Crybaby and emerging lofi Hip Hop talent HAWKRADA.
Footscray neo soul outfit Trad Ukiyo celebrate the release of their long awaited debut EP "Floating" at The Gasometer upstairs.
After their recent appearance at Flow in August 22 to much acclaim, the band took a break to work on and refine their debut release.
Floating melds together elements of soul, hip hop, jazz and r&b while exploring themes of heartbreak, self discovery and moving on.
While the bands live performances see them gliding between smooth and melancholy soul harmonies with a pop sensibility to searing improvisational sections.
Joining them will be friends Busted Chops and 35th Hour to bring you an energetic afternoon of jazz fusion and neo soul not to be missed
