After a groundbreaking year for Cousin Tony's Brand New Firebird, the 'bird is gearing up for an even bigger 2020, and today are announcing their Summer Tour.
2019 saw the release of the Melburnian quintet's standout singles 'Joy', 'Hot Pink' and 'Best Face to London', as well as their acclaimed sophomore album New Romancer. They toured the UK and Ireland, playing sold out shows in London, as well as performing at The Great Escape Festival (Brighton, UK), and around Australia – twice.
Currently sitting at #65 on the US NACC college radio charts, the Melbourne exponents of Indie art-pop will end 2019 at Falls Festival in Byron Bay on NYE, followed up by a triumphant Australian Summer Tour to share the love, and farewell New Romancer, before heading to Austin, Texas – where they have been invited to play at the music world's premiere global showcase, SXSW!
Lachlan Rose, the band's songwriter and frontman says, "the momentum and ethos of Cousin Tony is only growing stronger and more joyous and we’re stoked to be along for the ride. The conversations and experiences we’ve had touring New Romancer have been truly beautiful. Gonzo, Rick, Pete, Matt and I cant wait for the next tour and onwards to SXSW. Happy days."
