The Surfers are back.

Throughout March and April, Concrete Surfers will finally be touring their latest EP ‘Calamities’ up and down the east coast. After countless touring set backs, 3 failed touring attempts - the band is knocking on wood in the hope that the pangolins kiss won’t haunt them for a 2nd year running.

Concrete Surfers are an ever-evolving band that have received praise on a local, national and international level. They challenge tropes in their own genre with their original song writing, focusing on lyrics that cover current topics surrounding mental health, politics, as well as more introspective and personal events and reflection.

Pre-Pandemic, Concrete Surfers toured extensively through 2019 along the east coast of Australia following the release of singles Never Understood and Shattered Thoughts, which were produced by Fletcher Matthews (Dear Seattle, sweater curse, CLEWS, Fritz). The band appeared on major festivals such as Falls Festival, Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, Super Fun Day, Festival Of The Sun, and Blurst of Times as well as playing alongside major acts such as Dune Rats, Ruby Fields, Royal Blood (UK), The Cribs (UK), WAAX, and Ocean Alley to name a few.

In 2021 Concrete Surfers were nominated for Triple J’s prestigious ‘J-Award’ in the ‘Done Good’ category for creating a tour paired with the Queensland rugby league season to avoid venue restrictions imposed from COVID-19. The tour was caused quite a stir and was picked up by national outlets such as ABC News, ABC National, Channel 7 News, Triple M, Triple J, B105 to name a few.

The creativity behind the tour not only shined a light on the differences of restrictions between sporting codes and music but also showed Concrete Surfers’ eagerness to play incredible shows and win over fans in all areas of QLD.

Following the tour, Concrete Surfers released their 3rd EP titled ‘Calamities; which was met with critical acclaim from around Australia and international tastemakers. The EP was recorded at Airlock Studios in Brisbane and produced by industry heavyweight Paul McKercher (Ball Park Music, You Am I, Eskimo Joe, Pete Murray, The Vines, Tumbleweed). The band live tracked the EP as they wanted to capture the energy of their live shows and create something that was truly honest to themselves.
